The Flexofold Folding Sailboat Propeller is the most efficient, lowest drag propeller you can buy. This claim is based on independent tests conducted over the past several years and reinforced today by sailboat builders and owners around the world. If you are a serious racer, youll want the Racing Flexofold. Depending on size and speed, the drag will be 20 to 30% less than the Standard Flexofold. At the same time, the powering performance of the Racing Propeller will be only slightly less than the Standard Prop. We achieve this drag improvement by streamlining the blades and reducing the gap between them when folded. On many of today's sailboats, the saildrive has replaced the traditional engine, shaft, strut, propeller configuration. Saildrives present some unique challenges for propeller design, in which case this is best solved with a geared prop. This is where Martec's forty years of engineering know-how comes into play.
